Something You Never Want to Find Out....

Well, wouldn't you think that if it was 100% humidity outside it would be raining? Or something?

Well this AM, after receiving my Wake-Up-And-Go-Run text from CQL, I headed out for my run. I knew it was gross and hot and muggy. I was immediately sweating and melting and suffocating. But I kept on and finished with 3.33 miles (just for YOU Mel!). I came home and decided I would check the Weather Channel app on my phone. To my horror THIS is what I found:

GROSS.

But I survived to tell the tale and now you know, 100% does not mean rain. It means if you go for a run wear an oxygen mask and bring a butter knife to cut a path.

Hoping you have a more pleasant run than me. Perhaps you'll have a glorious run like my husband apparently did last night in Santa Cruz. Who me? Bitter? What ever gave you that idea?

  2. Probably good that you didn't look at the weather BEFORE your run. That's enough to start anyone rationalizing about why you shouldn't run....nice job!

  5. Hot! Hot! Hot! I did go back to bed, BUT I have a running date with a teacher friend at 11:00. I don't have to work until this afternoon. It's sunny here, but was cooler at 5:15 maybe if I hadn't worked til 10 the past two nights I would have been able to open my eyes and run this morning. Tomorrow 5:15....

  6. You are a rock star for running in those humid conditions!

  7. Wow! I'm sure seeing it after the run was more like an accomplishment than if you had seen it before the run. I would have totally talked myself out of the run if I saw that before I went out to run.

  9. Nice job! Humidity sucks, feels like you are breathing in water droplets.

  11. Ugh! It is like that here too - no good! On my Saturday run I could literally see the moisture in the air...but it wasn't rain! Hope it cools down there soon! Have a great day too!

  12. I know how you feel! I used to live in the driest state, but a year ago we moved to Texas and I've experienced some of those gross runs! Not fun! The shower always feels ten times better afterwards though!

  13. seriously I think that every morning!! how can it be 100% and not actually be raining?! it explains why I feel wet instantly though

  14. I'm pretty sure it was a mistake (surely) but one time I pulled up my weather app and it was predicting 100 and something % humidity. I had no idea you could go above and beyond a miserable 100.

  15. Being from CA, I've run in Santa Cruz before and, you know what?

It's pretty effing great. He sucks.

(Also Mendocino is a BEAUTIFUL place to run in. I'd like to go back and run there as an adult...I have this very vivid memory of running there. Maybe I should do a blog post on it.)

  18. Holy hell! 100* I will NOT complain with the 87% today! I agree with Emz, TM can be darn nice in that!

  19. Gross!
It's pretty much the same here, only that the temperature is close to a 100 degrees + humidity.
Best of both worlds is something I will never get.
Now, worst of both worlds ... that's something we can achieve.
