Take a Gander at This...

It hurts...real bad. And yes, I know my foot looks very dirty....

I hit snooze this AM instead of going for my run. How can I run with no skin on my arch? I don't know either...So I didn't. Suggestions welcome. Anything would be better than what The Hubs suggested: Put duct tape on it...Uh, seriously, is there anything you men don't use duct tape for?

Tomorrow is a new day though and my alarm is set for 5:15 AM so I can do my 5x1k @ 4:42 with 400 yd recovery between and a 10 min warm up and 10 min cool down.

Next thing for your viewing enjoyment is this truck I saw today. Look closely at the roof of his truck. I guess I could call him and ask what's up with the dinosaurs and super heros? Well and to ask what's up with his truck in general. It looks like my 6 year old went crazy practicing his numbers and letters on it, then played dinosaur vs. super heros on top....

Need a closer view? It's a little blurry but you get the point. Funny.

And finally, Sunday afternoon we had a small, impromptu belated 6th birthday party for LB. Poor kid didn't have any fun at all though... The look on The Hubs' face is priceless. Almost as classic as LB's face. Almost.

Happy Monday everyone!!!

  1. Dr Scholl's blister bandaids. They are a b*tch to get back off, even after wetting it, but it definitely provides support so you can run on it. I also recommend slapping some cortisone cream on it. Ouch!!

  2. holy cow, that makes my foot hurt just looking at it.

when i see people like that, it really scares me....makes you wonder what they do behind closed doors.

    LOVE LB's hair!!!

  3. I had the SAME blister in the SAME place that looked just like that! I've still got a little scar there. It was from my shoe rubbing when I was on the treadmill.

  4. Duct tape? What was your husband thinking? That's obviously a job for super glue.

  5. Ouch! I've had blisters like that before and they're NOT fun. I would avoid duct tape though...haha

The pic of LB is amazing!

  6. I admit, that picture of your blister made me cringe. Good call on skipping the run!

  7. I used to get blisters a lot, right in that same area. I would put on a bandaid and then moleskin over the bandaid. It worked great!

  8. duct tape seriously works!!! When I got on our long hiking trips... I duct tape all my feet and bring extra for new blisters.

  9. Yuck blister! Is that from your new shoes?? My old sneakers after waaay too many miles gave me bad blisters. My toe nails are still a mess too.

  10. I haven't had a blister like that for some time (knock on wood). Yowch! I hope it heals up soon! In the meantime, bandaid and moleskin.

  11. OUCH that looks painful! A good blister bandaid should help... with extra padding (but no sticky) over the actual sore.

  12. Boy that blister looks awful. Loved the pictures.

  13. yea, get some of those blister pads. One time I decided to take my ugly feet to get a pedicure and they (of course) rubbed all my callouses off. 3 days later I had blisters all over my feet and a 10K the next weekend! Those blister bandages saved the day.

I laughed at the duct tape comment!

ps. dont feel one shred of guilt for taking the day off.

  14. I have matching blisters to you right now!! One on each foot and they totally look like that. I went with liquid bandaid stuff, it hurt like hell but after 2 days I could run again. I have NO idea why I randomly got blisters there...do you know what caused yours?

I kind of like the idea of duct tape to prevent the blister, but not once it already there...ouch!
