I’m a Baaaad Ma’ama Jamma!

… .I have a picture to prove it! (Uh, hi mom!)

Do you ever drink out of the carton? I felt like such a teenager doing this! So rebellious! Woooo…watch out!

Why do rest days make me so hungry? Do you feel so starving on rest days? Nothing, and I mean nothing satisfies my hunger on days that I rest. Maybe I need a snickers bar??

Oh well. I guess the good news is that I actually rested today. I fought myself and the urge to do a swim, it was hard but I won….Get it? Fighting myself I would be a winner either way!  Ok, anyway…I actually forgot about the fact that I will be in Raleigh all day Wednesday for a training so I guess I get two rest days in one week! Great, shoot me now, er…I mean lucky me. Actually I think I get an hour for lunch and it’s supposed to be really nice so I’ll take my running clothes and maybe get in 3 or 4 miles during the break.

Speaking of weather, check out the rest of this week’s forecast. No…!!! I am not trying to make you all super jealous of my weather (just wait a few months and my skin will be melting off)! What kind of person do you think I am??? But this does have me wondering about my race on Sunday. Storms on Saturday are not a good sign…

Today I got an email from Active.com. Do you guys get these? If not then you really should check out the site. I find all sorts of really useful info every once and a while, like this article HERE about foam rolling or this one HERE with 5 Nutrition Tips for New Athletes, and finally, for the cyclist I have loitering here on 5 Miles, 4 Drills to Improve Pedaling Technique HERE. Enjoy!!

Good night homies…yeah, that’s right. Still feeling like a rebel here…

  3. My reward for two rest days in a row last week? I lost another pound. Don't ask me. I ate and drank the same amount. I am not complaining, mind you!

  9. I'm totally guilty of drinking out of the carton... and double-dipping in the peanut butter jar. Luckily, no one else eats my food. :)

  11. hahahaha! Does a body good! That is totally different than double dipping in the ice cream carton right? Double--who am I kidding, we both know its more than that!

  12. 1) Yesterday was big rest day. The day after my long run & barely ate. You see where this is going. NOM NOM NOM IN MY FOODHOLE!

    2) Eighty one? 81?!?!? I would never last in the south. 53 here today and I was running around outside in my t-shirt and flipflops.

  13. I think sometimes forcing a rest day is the hardest part of training, but its so good for you! And yeah, I am always STARVING even when I'm not working out.

  14. I hate Active.com although they are a necessity. It's those "check out races in your area" emails where none of the races are remotely close unless you own your own plane.

  15. Jamoosh---Uh...you mean you don't own your own plane???? I'm sorry, this is an exclusive G6 Owners blog only...sorry!!! =)

  16. Oh no! Don't drink out of the carton!!! BAD! Lol

BTW, I am extremely jealous of the weather you're having.

  17. I'm totally guilty of drinking from the carton! My husband thinks it's hilarious when he busts me doing it. He tells me that's something you'd expect to catch a teenage boy doing, not a 31-year-old grown woman.

What can I say? I never claimed to be a lady.

  18. Maybe I've just never grown up, but I always drink out of the carton! Think about it! You save the hassle of having to clean yet another glass.

  19. Tastes better straight from the jug! And YES I am revenous on my rest days. I can't stay out of the cupboards!! I think some of it is a boredom thing...

  20. I have to admit - I am jealous of those numbers. We are still hovering around 0 degrees at night here in AK.
    Love Active.com :)!

  21. Temps in the low 80's...tough!

  22. I have my own almond milk (no one else in my family drinks it) so I get to drink out of the carton and not feel bad haha

Also, thanks for the link to the nutrition for new athletes. I found it very helpful :)

  23. naughty, naughty girl!

Rest day or not, I am always starving. I eat every 2 hours -- I am not even kidding. :) I eat like a large man.

  24. I found that I'm constantly eating now that my mileage has increased! Kind of ruins the calories I burn during the run :(

Thanks for sharing the article on the foam roller. I just bought one and am so glad that I now know that I was using it wrong :(
