If you hate to hear whining then skip to the bottom of this post…
Yesterday was a forced rest day. It’s ok, I need to rest. My shin was mad at me last week so it is good to give it a rest. But it is hard when I don’t want to rest but I have to. I was busy all day getting stuff done and working and there was no time to make it to the gym. It stinks that lap swim is right in the middle of the day, 10 AM-1 PM, and then you throw in there drying off and getting dressed for work again and your looking at at least 2 hours of time. There is actually early lap swim until 6:30 AM but all bets are off before 8 AM. I can’t do early morning workouts since someone has to be home with the little human. Which reminds me, when do kids start staying home alone? Like for 30-45 min, or a 3-5 mile run around the neighborhood?
So that was yesterday. Big fat ZERO on the workout plan. And guess what?! Pretty sure today will be another big fat ZERO unless I can make my way to the gym and choose either a swim or a five mile run. If I swim I have to fix my hair, like really fix it. If I run I could maybe pull of sweat-head hair, it’s hot.
Ach!! I guess the real thing is I’m just grumpy. I hate missing workouts. Its like being a crack head and not having any crack…I watch too much Intervention. Do you ever feel that way? Or is it just me? Please tell me it’s not just me….
And some of you may recall the random toilet paper that appeared my my bathroom last week, with Osama Bin Laden’s face on it…Well, we are so money around here. Check this out!
We are SO money around here…high rollers if you will.
And finally, to make up for all the whining up there check this out…
That’s right folks!! 80% to my goal!! I can’t believe it! This is freaking awesome!! How awesome? About as awesome as if that toilet paper were made of REAL hundred dolla bills ya’ll. Lazy Dog hates me….it’s ok though, I love him.
And finally!!!! I subscribed and finally got my first Runner’s World, actually two, February and March!
And this, my friends, is why I love blogging. I was all “Wha wha whaaaaa”, “woe is me” “Negative Nancy Pantsy” in the beginning and then, THEN I was reminded of all the totally awesome things about yesterday!!! And now I am happy with a spring in my step!!
So make it a great day peeps! There is always negative things we can focus on, but it’s jut better to focus on the good. In fact, tell me something good! What is totally awesome about today!?
It's good for training to take a day off! Remember that. Plug it into your training just as you do a long run or laps at the pool!
ReplyDeleteIt is not just you!!!! So don't check yourself into celebrity rehab! I'm the same way...whine all you need to!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your fundraising!!! That is awesome!!!
I subscribe to Runners World too but they just sit on my coffee table, collecting. I should really start reading them....
ReplyDeleteThe TP is cracking me up!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, you're allowed to whine sometimes.
What is totally awesome about today? Well, at least it's not Monday. :P
Hey! I'm a newbie to the blogging world but LOVE to read your posts!! Yours is the first one I found when I googled 'running blogs" trying to get some motivation/inspiration! I've been creepin on you for about a week or two now, and just started my own blog yesterday! Let's just say I've only been a runner for about 2 months now (Just completed Couch25K and my first 5K!!) and running is completely and totally my crack. I feel like crap if I don't run (even though about half way through I'm trying really hard to figure out why I like it so much...hints the title of my blog!) Anyways thanks for the motivation!!
ReplyDelete1. I SERIOUSLY want to know where you got that dollar bill toilet paper! (I need it for a school project)
ReplyDelete2. I have a cure for sweat head hair- dry shampoo. Ever tried it? Its amazing. you can get it at Sallys, I forgot the name of the best brand but its green and starts with a B. Do not let the lame packaging fool you. Its a life changer. Oh, its called Batiste.
i don't mind your whining...i still think you are an awesome runner!
ReplyDeleteI could definately use the help on the Half training! I have no idea what I'm doing! I spoke to some people at the expo at the 5K and they told me to increase my mileage one day a week by a mile each week, and to run 3 miles or so on my regular runs. I ran 2 miles on Sunday, lifted on Monday, and today I ran 4 miles, split up 2 at a time about an hour apart. I would LOVE any training input you have!! You can email me at JessicaKeller42@gmail.com! You are awesome! I was born and raised in Tulsa, went to Oklahoma State, and moved to Dallas after school for my husbands job! Maybe I'll see you in OKC?!
ReplyDeleteI want to run my 1/2 for a cause. I am not sure which cause and have thought about doing some fundraising on my own, as opposed for a big organization. How did you decide? What was the process like? Thanks!
