Yay ME!

On so many levels!

My weekend surprise arrived late, late last night and I had to go pick her up at the airport!!!

Remember when I asked about exciting plans for the weekend?

Well this was Jessica’s reply:

She  left out one small detail…..

My TFF (total friend forever) or Original Race Crew or Jessica came to visit, all the way from the PNW!!!

After a few flight delays and mishaps she finally made it in last night around 11:15 PM. We made it home from the airport after 2 AM. I hit the hay around 3 AM just so LB could wake up ready for the day. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep last night and my plan for an early 7 AM run went out the window.

This morning, after a cup of coffee I felt more alive (and less cranky) and I got ready to head out for my 10 mile run around 9:30 AM. The Hubs jumped up from his studies and decided come along!  LB was at a friend’s house, TFF was sleeping soundly, catching up from 24 hours in the airports. So we headed out, me for 10 miles Hubs for undecided mileage. IT was WARM!

I felt good the first few miles. Then I remembered something: The paint guy was scheduled to come by at 10 to give an estimate to FINALLY paint our kitchen! It was 10:09! Dang it!! I told the Hubs and we turned around and headed home.  I picked up the pace. I hate being irresponsible and this guy had to drive a ways to come for the estimate. I felt bad. Then the Hubs said I could finish my run and he would head home. I was relieved, I really wanted to get in my full 10 miles. I finished up 10 miles at a 9:23 min/mile pace. I felt good the first 6 miles then struggled mile 7. I was able to pick it up for the last two miles but it was warm. I didn’t take my handheld water bottle, should have.

And finally, where should I put my new medal display form Allied Medal Displays? I have been considering different places and hopefully will get it hung tomorrow.

On my bed room door???

On the wall of my bed room?

Above the fire place?

image

On this tiny piece of wall between the living room and the kitchen?

Oh yeah!!! In the bathroom!!!

image

In the hallway?

image

This side of the hallway?

image

Above my perfectly made bed and between the peacock and the snake heads from Sri Lanka?

image

Oh yeah!! On the FRONT DOOR!?!?!?

Cast your vote!!

As much as I love the medal hanger in your bathroom or on the front door.... I think my vote goes to the hallway!

  2. What an awesome surprise from the PNW!!! WOW!!

I'm so jealous you are in shorts and t! I was battling runner's snot in the cold air this a.m.!! :P

YOu may get stalkers if you put it on your front door, so hallway! But, I kind of dig it in the bathroom...and running and the toilet at least go well together!

  4. You're in North Carolina now, so you need to mount the medal hanger on the front grill of your pickup, just below the rod-holders. I'm allowed to say that since I've lived in NC for 13 years now ... and my dad has a full set of rod-holders on the front of his truck. When in Rome ....

  8. Hmmm... I'm going to have to say the fireplace. Just seems like that would be the place where the most amount of eyes would see it.

  9. I saw Jessica's posts on FB about how long it took. That's a friend!

I say over the bed, that way if you are laying there in the morning debating whether or not you should get up and run, you'll look up and see them and be inspired!

  10. I vote for either the hallway or the bedroom wall (not between the peacock and snake from Sri Lanka).

Glad to hear you're enjoying the warm weather.

  15. I'm so happy your TFF is here! As for the medals Hmmmmmm not sure, I would say something where people can see them. :)
Oh and I can't let this one go, the hUbs running shirtless in his oakleys, please tell me the outfit was complete with a pair of ranger panties?? So we can totally tease him about being "that guy".
Remind me to tell you about the time Ian went into the grocery stOre with me in his ranger panties.. It was INTERESTING. :-p

  16. Hi there! I found you on wojoku's blog list.

I kinda like the fireplace for your medals. That rack seems like a good idea. We were hanging ours on our bowflex and now they are sitting on a windowsill.

Congrats on signing up for the Rock n Roll! My friend and i are trying to decide if we want to do that one (here in Seattle).
