So as promised I took lots of pics yesterday to share with you all. Funny thing too, I had no idea but Mel-Tall Mom had the same idea (she just beat me to it. HA!) So lets start with my drive to Post to run 3 miles around the Hub’s work, shall we?
Brrrrrr……21 degrees! I know, a lot of you have it way colder but still, this was cold. But the sun was shining so all was good!
This is a snap of the Signature Pose for Blonde Ponytail!
Drive to the post…shortly after this shot I saw NINE sheriffs. A benz had crashed into the trees. They had to chop down some trees to get it out. I guess it was a big deal. The hubs said it was going on when he went to work at 5:30 AM. I drove by at 9:15.
Last sip of coffee to warm up before I heeded out for 3 miles!
THE trail. It is 1.5 miles round trip. It is nice but I can’t handle it for too long. 3 miles is good, 4.5 is ok, 6 miles I can eeeeek out, but more than that? Shoot me now.
It is pretty, soft ground covered with pine needles. This is the path the guys use for their PT test so it is well traveled.
A nice little bridge over some stinky, stale water.
Earlier in the week I told the Hubs that there was a hole at the end of this bridge and someone was going to step in it an break their leg, like seriously, compound fracture their shin bone. It was a bad hole! And the poor guys run on this trail in the DARK at 6:30 AM. So the Hubs told the First Shirt who made the low-on-the-totem-pole guys put up this barricade. I take full responsibility for everyone being able to safely run here, for now. Maybe I will take a bucket next time and fill the hole with dirt and gravel.
More trail….
As I finished up my first lap and headed into the second I saw the Hubs drive off headed to the pool. I picked up my pace to finish the final lap so I could meet him there.
Here is me, done and done!! 3 miles 9:07 pace. Cheese pose.
I got in the car and headed to the pool. I got in 1250 yds/ 300 yd warm up/ 8x 100 yds with 10 sec rest between/ 150 yd cool down. I had a good swim then it was off to work. Everything lined up perfectly from run to swim to work!
Then between clients I headed to Dicks Sporting Goods to check out the gear. Apparently bright colors are in for spring, which is good. But really? Can I pull off these spankies? I think that is what they are…spankies. I just like to say spankies…we’ll see when summer comes and it is 100 degrees out and 157% humidity. I may just pull off the hot leopard print spankies, or the patchwork spankies…What do you think? Can I pull off the spankies? Should I pull off the spankies? Are you going to jump on the crazy spanky bandwagon this spring/summer? OOOOh!! I am thinking Spanky Competish coming up!!! Yeah!
And finally, this is why I don’t run on the road outside of my neighborhood…it’s dangerous. Other than people like me taking pictures while driving, that car is making a left turn and the car behind is so impatient they have to pass in the ditch, where I could be running. Road Kill. Or Ditch Kill. It’s just crazy.
So that is my Friday in pics! Today the Hubs is at school so I will be pounding out 9 miles on the treadmill. I bet it would be so much more fun if I were wearing spankies.
How about you? What is your weekend workout? Post some pics of your route! I’d love to live vicariously through you!!
I can’t wait until next Friday!! I have a surprise! Well, it is really only exciting for me but some of you will find it exciting!!! But you’ll have to wait until Friday! How is that for a cliffhanger??? Do you guys have anything exciting coming up? What about Valentine’s Day??
i wish i could wear the spankies just for novelty, but um...no, i would look even more ridiculous than normal. i do love the metallic ones though!!! i ran my boring 1 mile neighborhood loop for 4 miles this morning with my german shepherd by my side to keep me company. i hope to get out and enjoy the 60s we are going to have tomorrow with a long bike ride followed by a run. intrigued about your cliffhanger. have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you could pull of spankies. HOWEVER, those are the ugliest spankies I've ever seen. Not that I've seen a lot of spankies or anything. But patchwork? OMG. That picture looked like it was from 1986.
ReplyDeleteI should have taken pictures on my 8 mile run today. It was snowy but the sun was out. Why do I never think of it until it is too late?
ReplyDeleteNo spankies for me. But ass would look like giant canvas artwork in those!
Happy weekend.
I'm with Kerrie, 1986 did call and wants those spankies back. You, however, could pull off a pair, maybe in a lovely dark blue...
ReplyDeleteOMGosh those shorts (spankies?) are HORRIBLE!! NO ONE would look good in those. Well, maybe Richard Simmons could pull 'em off. Love your trail! The one I often use at the Y (b/c they have childcare) is similar, but only ONE mile. I can do about 3 laps before wanting to kill myself.
ReplyDeleteeven if four loops will kill you - thats still an awesome 1.5 mile loop you got yourself!
ReplyDeleteWith your run to swim workout it sounds like you're on your way to that half ironman. Trails are always better than roads!
ReplyDelete...Mike
No. Spankie. Way.
ReplyDeleteOMG. the spankies... what a gorgeous trail!
ReplyDeleteOh dear sweet baby Jesus, please tell me that is not going to be the new fashion trend! They are hideous! No, Amanda! Step away from the Spankies!!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha PAM, that is funny....YES! They are so the fashion! I can't wait to sport them! They are growing on my by the second! With every comment I am holding myself back from driving to the store RIGHT NOW to buy all of them!
ReplyDeleteI always laugh when I see those at Dick's too. At least you know you'd stand out if you wore them ;)
ReplyDeleteI want some of those!! I think they're cool :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! Me and Mallory can hang out in the Spankies!! Yeah!
ReplyDeleteTrails look super nice right now as I head out for the gym to do a treadmill run.
ReplyDeletespankies, spankies...don't tease! love the pine needle portion! good job!
ReplyDeleteYes!! Thanks for the sig pose! LOVE IT ALWAYS!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen your legs and YOU CAN PULL OFF SPANKIES!! When I worked for volleyball at Purdue, the kid campers went crazy for the most outrageous pair of spankies!!
If you go spanky, go LOUD!!! I will enter the contest if you don't show our faces--my readers guess who is wearing what pair?!
I think you could pull off the spankies! ;) That trail looks beautiful...I am jealous! I can't wait to be able to run my favorite trail agin...go away snow!!
ReplyDeleteWell, let's see... I like spankies, but I don't like running with them because I feel my knees touching each other and then it annoys me big time lol. And, since I'm in Brazil right now for vacation, here it's already 100F out, it's SO NICE UHHHHHHHHHH! *-*
ReplyDeleteOh Valentines here is on June! Can you believe it? June 12th lol. Weird weird!
I have my very first marathon coming up on April! I'm SO NERVOUS AND EXCITED AND FREAKING OUT OMG lol. It's just a 10K, but still.
/dramaqueen heh.
I was just at Dick's sporting goods today and saw the colorful spankies lol... i was thinking about buying a fun bright pair to wear in the warmer weather when im having a bad day lol... but decided against it, for now ;)
ReplyDeleteThe spankies look like Dolphin Uglies- a line of practice swim suits that are ugly on purpose, same bright colors and pattern mixing! (http://www.dolfinswimwear.com/Uglies/9502L.html)
ReplyDeleteI missed the colorful spankies at my Dick's, and for that, I'm thankful. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo day!!!
You could pull off the spankies. I would hide mine under a pair of shorts. But I do love the loud colors. No patchwork for me though!
