Now Christmas is over and there is one more hurdle…New Year’s.
I love the holidays but man, fudge, cookies, other good food and lots of sitting around are making me feel ICKY! You know, like I am weighed down, kind of like this:
Good thing my friend KATIE is in town from WA to visit ME (ok, not really me. There may be a boyfriend with family in this town involved but I am going to pretend she came here to visit me). We have plans for a nice mid-distance run tomorrow-her birthday! I am so excited!
I am ready to settle in to my non-holiday schedule and lose 10 pounds get back to a routine of running and working out. I have been researching Bike Trainers so I can bring my bike inside and ride to my hearts content. So far I have narrowed it down to a CycleOps Fluid 2 Trainer or Kurt Kenetic. If you have any advice or suggestions I am all ears! I just need to get some riding in if I want to do a Half Ironman this summer, and I DO want to…
How was your Christmas? LB had “the best Christmas ever”! I hope you all did too!
I will be working on my New Year’s Goals this week! Are you working on yours?
I had tons of big goals until injury struck...now my one and only goal is to run pain free again. :) Funny how an injury puts everything into perspective and narrows your focus.
ReplyDeleteThat weighed down feeling is the worst!!!! I'm going through the same thing right now and can't WAIT for routine to set back in so I can lose the holiday pounds.
The picture of LB is adorable! He looks super excited. Have a good week!
I'm ready for the holidays to be over too...too much candy...ugh!
ReplyDeleteFWIW, we have the Kurt Kinetic and really like it! It's quiet and smooth and works great!
I'll see those 10 pounds and raise you 5.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a hard time working on my 2011 goals since I've been nursing an injury. I had originally set a goal to participate in at least one event per month ~ I'll be lucky to be able to hobble through a 5K by the end of January :(
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I'm a little frustrated??????
Good Luck on the half Ironman!! I can't wait to read all about it!

Good for you for getting on your goal early! And I am so with you on the guns! My husband and father has many and my boys will too. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read about your goals Amanda! Have you had a chance to run on your old HS track?!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel weighed down too (probably these extra 6 pounds!)!
ReplyDeleteI am working on goals. I didn't get as far with my 2010 ones as I wanted, so I am going to recycle some of them.
2011 goals and training plan have been done since November. Yes, I'm obsessive!
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly like you, I'm ready to be past the holidays. I have zero willpower, and I'd rather just not have this stuff in my house. Not to mention the sheer laziness and lack of desire to cook MORE... which means I'm eating crap, which makes me feel like crap. UGH! Done... Saturday will be a new day!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for keeping up with the running. I'm finding it hard to get going - especially with the wet weather we've been having! Goals...hmm...to actually get out and run. Hope your goals are a little more ambitious than mine!
ReplyDeleteYour LB has such a great face! That's perfect for Christmas!
I love love the picture of LB!! SO cute! I hope you are having a wonderful New Years Eve! Love ya and miss you my friend! I thought you would be happy to know that I am going to do a 5k on Saturday the 22nd. My trainer made me a running plan for me to work on it! My plan run more walk and I have time goal which I wont share because it is so slow! Yesterday Jason, his cousin and I ran in the snow cold so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Make sure to check Craigslist for trainers. My husband and I got an almost spanking new one on CL for $40. Just wanted to suggest!
ReplyDeleteEnter my giveaway! It ends tomorrow. Happy New Year :)
